Surgical oncology is the use of surgery to treat cancer. Surgery is done to remove tumours that are cancer. Surgery can be used by itself to treat the cancer or it can be done with other treatments. Complex tumour removals are skilfully performed by PIMS’s highly trained and experienced surgical oncologists with their expertise with regard to the techniques necessary for biopsies, the resectability of the cancers and the role of surgery.
